Drake and West Being Sued

It seems like whenever someone or something becomes successful, everyone wants to stake claims that they were the reason for the success or simply, it was my friggin idea. So, I'm not surprised that both Drake and Kanye West are getting sued this week for stealing, especially since the songs in question are they're greatest hits.

Drake is being sued by Hugh Hefner [don't you have enough money?] and his Playboy Enterprises for sampling from a song that Playboy owns on his hit song "Best I Ever Had." The song's opener is allegedly sampled from a 1970's song "Fallin in Love."

Fallin In Love

Best I Ever Had

The songs definitely sound almost the same but, the real question is, why sue Drake? He didn't produce the track so shouldn't we be suing Boi-1da, the producer of the track?
This actually isn't the first time the track has been under scrutiny. Producer Kia Shine wanted songwriting credit on the track and part ownership of the song, since it briefly samples the beat of a Weezy track he produced. But, Drake very kindly said, No. Lets see if this accusation goes over as easy.

Now on the Yeezy. His dispute is far more ridiculous, especially since the song is old as shit. Why the hell are you suing after 3 years? Songwriter Vince P is suing Mr. West for plagiarism on his 2007 hit 'Stronger.' His claim states that West copied parts of a song that he sent to West's manager in 2007 when he was trying to get West to be an executive producer for his album. Some lyrics in question are "What don’t kill me make me stronger" [sir, you didn't originally make that up] and “couldn’t wait no longer" [nor that] as well as some references to Kate Moss.

Although this could be true, Vince P has lost his mind and here is the real reason this claim is ludicrous. He is not only seeking damages, but demands that distribution of the single discontinue, wants West to cease from performing the single, and that all remaining copies be destroyed.....*Blank Stare*
You've GOT to be kidding me.....where they do that at? (sigh) good luck, Vince.
